Something to Note...

We believe that the true power of crystals comes from your personal connection with them.

Rather than relying on lengthy descriptions of what a crystal can do, we encourage you to use your intuition when selecting which crystal you need. Very often the elaborate descriptions will likely leave you feeling more overwhelmed and confused than clarified!

By tuning into your intuition, you'll discover how the crystal can uniquely support you in your journey. Trust the process, listen to the energy it offers, and let it reveal its purpose to you — because the best healing comes from within.

If you need help on how to select crystals, you can follow our “How to Choose Crystals Guide”.

What Is Copper?

  • Chemical Composition: Copper is a native element with the chemical formula Cu. It is one of the few metallic elements that occur in nature in a directly usable metallic form.

  • Origin: Copper is found in many regions around the world, including the United States, Chile, Russia, and Zambia. Significant deposits are also located in Australia, Peru, and Canada.

  • Crystal System and Habits: Copper belongs to the cubic crystal system and typically forms in dendritic, sheet-like, or irregular masses. It occasionally forms in cubic or octahedral crystals but is more commonly found in massive habits.

  • Crystal Family or Group: Copper is part of the native elements group.

  • Hardness and Durability: Copper has a hardness of 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, making it relatively soft and malleable.

  • Colour: Copper has a reddish-brown metallic colour, which can develop a greenish patina (copper carbonate) when exposed to air over time.

Methods for Cleansing and Charging Copper

  • Water: Avoid prolonged exposure to water, as copper can corrode or develop a patina. A quick rinse with water is acceptable, but dry the metal immediately. Dry cleansing methods are recommended instead.

  • Moonlight: Place copper under the light of the full moon to cleanse and recharge its energy. The moon’s energy enhances its grounding and amplifying properties.

  • Sunlight: Brief exposure to sunlight can recharge copper, but avoid prolonged periods as it may cause tarnishing or patina formation.

  • Selenite: Use a selenite plate to cleanse and charge copper by placing it on the plate for several hours to refresh its energising and amplifying energy.

  • Visualisation: Hold copper in your hands and visualise a golden or reddish light flowing through it, clearing away any stagnant energy and amplifying its conductive and healing properties.

  • Sound: Cleanse copper using sound vibrations from a singing bowl or tuning fork. Let the sound waves pass through the metal to refresh its grounding energy.

  • Smoke Cleansing: Pass copper through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs to purify its energy and restore its amplifying vibrations.

  • Storage and Protection: Store copper in a dry place and polish it regularly to maintain its shine. If you prefer the natural patina, simply keep it in an open space and avoid over-polishing.

How to Use Copper

  • Meditation and Spiritual Work: Use copper during meditation to enhance energy flow and spiritual connection. It can be placed on or near the body to help balance energy and amplify the effects of other crystals.

  • Jewellery and Accessories: Wearing copper as jewellery keeps its grounding and amplifying energy close throughout the day. It is often used in healing bracelets to improve circulation and reduce pain.

  • Home and Office: Place copper in your home or workspace to promote harmony and balance. It can help stabilise energy, enhance creativity, and support vitality in any environment.

  • Crystal Grids: Use copper in crystal grids as a conductor of energy. Place it near stones like clear quartz or selenite to amplify their healing properties.

  • Elixir or Infused Water: Do not use copper in direct contact with water for elixirs, as it can corrode and release toxic compounds. Always use the indirect method when making a copper-infused elixir.
